Checking secure access…Do the apps need a password?
While you are setting things up, leave this off — every tool opens straight away so the team can test freely. When the event gets close and real contestant data is in, turn it on. Each person then only sees their own team's tools.
Team passwords
For a new team account, leave “current password” empty and enter a new password of at least 6 characters. For an existing team, enter its current password: leave “new password” blank to repair only its access link, or enter a new password of at least 6 characters to change it. Passwords go directly to Firebase Authentication and are never stored in the database.
If you do not know an existing current password, use Firebase Console to reset it. Firebase does not allow a static website to override another account without its current password.
Individual driver account
Create one login per driver. The driver ID must exactly match that driver’s key in transport/drivers.
Advanced — database settings (only if asked)
Turn on Email/Password sign-in once, then come back and save the team passwords above.
Production rules — locks the contestant database to signed-in staff, while still letting a contestant use their personal response link. Full copy is in firebase-rules.json.
